In December 2019, Abbott's diabetes care business discontinued the function to upload FreeStyle Libre data from the FreeStyle LibreLink mobile app to diasend® in all countries except Sweden and Norway.
Since June 10th 2021, this includes uploading data from the FreeStyle Libre reader via USB-cable at home or via Transmitter in the clinic. Since this date, FreeStyle Libre is no longer compatible with diasend® in all countries except Sweden and Norway.
For you as a clinician, this means that if you live and use diasend® in Sweden and Norway you are still able to upload data from FreeStyle Libre 1 using the Glooko Transmitter and from the FreeStyle Libre 2 via the clinic diasend® Uploader.
If you live and use diasend® in any other country, Abbott has decided to remove the ability for the upload to diasend® - starting June 10th 2021.
What does this mean for our patients?
Patients who live and use diasend® in Sweden or Norway are still able to upload data from FreeStyle Libre 1 and 2 via the diasend® Uploader. As users in those two countries, patients are able to connect their LibreLink app to their diasend® account too.
We are sorry for any inconvenience Abbott's decision may have caused you - it's a decision out of our control.
